State Fair

We went to the Tulsa State fair with our friends, the Binghams, this weekend. We started with the petting zoo. Brayden backed away suspiciously from each exhibit while Kylee squealed and tried to put her fingers into every animal mouth she could reach. Taylor was sneezed on by a goat--a huge gray and brown goat bugger on his arm--eweeee!

We went to a great activity that allowed the kids to milk a cow, gather eggs, plant a seed, pick vegetables, ride a tractor, sell their harvest, and purchase a treat in the general store (it was all pretend, but the treat at the end was real).

We had corn dogs and turkey for lunch. Well, I had turkey. Let's just say I think I'll be sick of turkey for a while.

Brayden rode some rides and even requested to go on the kiddy roller coaster, which after the scene at the petting zoo was a great surprise. He endured the ride with paranoia etched into his face during every minute. But, afterward he said it was fun.

Here, goatee, goatee

Was this turkey taking illegal steroids?

Did I really want to get on this ride?

That was fun.

When do we go back?

Brayden was the gingerbread man for school. They learned about Stranger Danger by reading fairy tales, so at the end of the week, each child dressed up as a character from a fairy tale. At first Brayden wanted to be the brick house from the 3 little pigs, but then changed his mind to the gingerbread man.
You can't cath me. . .
"I'm a fast runner like the gingerbread man, right mom?"
