Thanksgiving

Brayden had a "Fall Feast" with his class at school. We had chicken nuggets, carrots and dip, fruit ka-bobs, and Capri-Suns. The teacher had the kids help her mix pumpkin pie the day before and then she baked it for dessert. It was quite a meal. I ended up taking Kylee with me and she had a great time! She only put up a fuss until I got her a chair and a plate, just like all the other kids. She even followed the line out to recess after the feast. Alas, I didn't get a good picture of it--I was too busy with everything else!

Taylor was in charge of Thanksgiving dinner this year and he did a great job. He was determined to do the whole thing "disposable." So, we ate on paper plates and our serving dishes were foil pans. The only things that were "real" were the salt and pepper shakers, a pot to boil the potatoes, and the tablecloth (The tablecloth was only at my insistence.) We had Josh, Haylee and Taylor's dad, Layne over for dinner. We watched "Evan Almighty" after. It was a good family show.

Kylee is always learning new tricks. Right now she is perfecting "stack the canned goods" trick.

We put up our tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving. Let the Christmas season begin!

Turkey Day buffet style.

Taylor using his Dixie cup ladle for the gravy.
I must say, a ladle is probably something worth washing.

Ahh, the box that we keep the Christmas tree in. At this moment, it was a train.

Kylee un-trimming the tree.

I am trying to get Kylee to keep bows in her hair. We are making slow progress.

"Look at my tower, Mom! You left the pantry door open again and I hauled these cans out and stacked them on your coffee table. The stack only fell about 12 times before I perfected it. You didn't want scratch and dent free furniture did you?"

A classic game of "Are you my pillow?"
