Birthday Week

Monday was my actual birthday. There was no school, so I took Brayden and Kylee to McDonald's with some friends. Wahoo! Happy Birthday to me.

I made frozen lasagna for dinner because there was no way I was going to cook on my big day. When Taylor got home we had a nice dinner. As we were cleaning up, the doorbell rang and in came my friends, Kressyda and Cameron with their little boy Elliot. Next came the Williams and the McDormans. Taylor busted out some balloons and cake and surprised me with a birthday party. It was really thoughtful of him. I had thought he had forgotten about birthday cake, so I had made my own. Yess! Can't have too much cake. Thank you Taylor!!

On Wednesday, I took Brayden out of school for a playgroup at Bounce U. I guess you could say we love that place. It turned out to be us and Kressyda with Elliot. Surprisingly, no one else made it. (There is some serious sickness going around right now.) We had a BLAST! Well, at least I did. It was not busy so I climbed all the toys that my kids are too little to climb. Too bad I forgot the camera.

Saturday I threw a baby shower for my friend, Katrina. I had lots of help, so I can't take all the credit. That night we had a mini-girls night for by birthday. Again, lots of sick people and family in town, so it was small but fun!

Flat Stanley is here for about a week. He came to us from Kansas and before that, he was sent off by a second grade class in Utah.

Yum, I love the apples at McDonald's

Especially dipped in ketchup!

Me reading to Brayden's class. I read "Little Pea" and "Baghead."
(I was wearing a white tank under the black shirt--just an explanation of what could appear to be really low-rise pants.)

Jessica, Matt and Ellie sent mail!

We loved your drawings, Team Simmons!

Mom, Brayden, and flat Stanley playing video games.

Baby Shower Food table, about half-way through set-up. We had yogurt, 7 kinds of bread, quiche, fruit trays, and juice. It was a morning shower. I did a picture frame and had everyone sign the mat rather that a guest book.

Girlie night--Me, Katrina, Andrea, Jacque. The waitress brought out an AWESOME dessert for my birthday (I thought free dessert was a thing of the past, so I was thrilled.) Cinnamon-sugar empanadas with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream and some excellent hot fudge.

Kylee got this crown from nursery and actually wore it the whole way home. I think she liked all the members telling her she was a pretty princess.

Brayden has done a lot this week! He's worn out.

Still sad I never was able to make it to any of the Birthday festivities. Hope you had fun!

That is the coolest bouquet I have ever seen. Good idea for a business . . .
