Five and Two

This week was Brayden's last week of swim lessons. He improved greatly over the last month. On the last day, he jumped in off the diving board with no one to catch him and swam to the edge all by himself. He then told me "I don't want to do that again." :) I'm proud of him.

Taylor and Kylee watching Brayden's swim lessons. Every time Brayden jumps in, Kylee claps for him and says "Yeah, Brayden!"

Brayden and Kylee pooled their gift cards from Great Grandma and Grandpa Faber and got this awesome water table. They will play in it for about 30 minutes without a break, which is great for me! I don't even mind that they tend to come in soaking wet.

On the 4th of July we went to our friends, the Binghams, intending to let Brayden light sparklers with his friend, Ella. We ended up camping out and watching their neighbor's fireworks. Their neighbors are from California and haven't been able to do fireworks before they moved her last year, so they went all out.
It was too loud for Kylee, so Taylor stayed in the car with her for a good view.

Brayden picked home-made Oreos instead of cake. His birthday cake looks suspiciously like Taylor's. . .

On Sunday, we had Kylee's party with the Dickerson side of the family. (Brayden scored some pretty sweet toys, too).
Haylee, Josh, Tyler, Lacie (due in October), Donna (Layne's girlfriend), Layne, Brayden, Taylor, Kylee, Me!
Good work on the yard, Taylor.

Kylee and Lacie

The first thing Kylee opened was a pair of goggles. She LOVED them (Brayden gets to wear his when he swims, after all).
In fact, she kept them on for quite a while.

Really, quite a while.

The Faber clan called during the mayhem of presents and wished Brayden a happy birthday. (They had left a singing telegram on the answering machine on the 4th while we were out.)

Brayden opening his gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Faber. He got a remote controlled train for is GeoTrax and some new Tracks.

And Kylee got a new tricycle. Thanks Grams and Gramps!

Our kids were also well-loved by the Dickerson aunts, uncles, and grandpa. I am so grateful for everyone who helps us take care of our kids. I'm also grateful for Nerf Guns!

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

Kylee with her cake. The candle sings "Happy Birthday" once it's lit. I think our chorus was much better, though :)

Thank you Dickersons (and McDormans and Deckards and Donna) and Fabers for making the evening fun.

Fun summer! It is so neat to see Taylor's side of the family through your blog. I've only ever met Layne.

What a fun Birthday week! Glad it was so great. Well, next year we'll have to have a HUGE birthday party now that we have one on the 8th, then 2 more soon after in Aug! Your kids sure are lucky! They scored! =o)
