Rain, Rain, Go Away

We listed our home on Wednesday. We chose to go with a limited service broker, meaning we pay her 300.00 to list our home in the MLS and then I do all the leg work (we are still offering 3% to the buyer's agent). She is available to accept offers from other agents, but offers limited assistance in the whole paper work processes. She never actually comes to the house--our for sale sign comes in the mail. In the mean time, we have a for sale by owner sign up and have showed the house a handful of times.

On Thursday, the rain began. Our 10 day forcast has rain, rain, rain. Not the best for selling a house. Also not the best for all the things we have in storage. The storage unit people warned me that once before they have gotten enough rain to flood some of the units. Turns out this hurricane could flood it again. I put most (but not all) of our stuff on crate platforms, just because I knew it was a vague possibility. Hurricane Ike has not been good for the Dickerson's, but at least we aren't near the coast of Texas! Matthew, what does hurricane Ike look like?

The things we did to get the house ready: New roof, new paint, carpets cleaned, all personal photos out, put up "generic" art, new bed spread, new towels in both bathrooms, rented a storage unit for extra stuff, cleaned up and re-mulched yard, general cleaning.

Beautiful throughout! 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with over-sized great room/ vaulted ceiling and gas log fire place in living room. Spacious master suite has walk-in closet and double sinks in a private bath. Large, fully fenced, backyard with water feature and covered patio. New roof in 2008. New high-quality paint on inside and out (2007-2008). Bullnosed corners, crown molding, window treatments, tile in kitchen and entry. Near parks and walking trail. Exceptional value.
