We moved this week! I did a terrible job of taking pictures, so this week is a picture-less post. We are now in Las Cruces and working on unpacking. Taylor and I ended up leaving a day earlier than we had planned, thanks to Billie allowing us to sign our closing papers on the trunk of her car in the Sutherlands parking lot. We drove straight from Jenks to Las Cruces, which took us about 14 hours total. Taylor and I just switched off driving and the kids slept for a majority of the time.
When we arrived we went directly to city hall to have our water turned on. That means we were grimy, smelly, hungry, and Kylee's diaper had leaked all over (no, we did not go the whole way without changing it). The people were still very polite to us. In fact, I have been impressed with the niceness of the people here and that is saying a lot coming from Jenks.
On Saturday we joined Taylor's work before "the big game." (The NM state Aggies vs. someone else). It is breast cancer awareness month and Las Cruces is the highest revenue generating city in the country for breast cancer. That means the whole city was wearing pink, business had pink balloons, the elementary kids did "think pink" art, and they even had a pink ribbon painted on the grass outside the football stadium.
Brayden is set to start school on Tuesday, his teacher will be Mrs. Morehead and I have heard really great things about her. I am nervous about safety, just because I'm always paranoid and the kids play outside on the playground before school until the bell rings rather than going right inside. They don't have curb-side pick up so in order to drive him I have to get Kylee out of the car to drop him off and to pick him up. For that reason, I am considering letting him ride the bus. The bus driver for our neighborhood has assigned seats for the kindergarteners, so I hear, and she doesn't let them go past the 4th row, so at least it would be a good bus ride.
The ward here is very small. The relief society was happy to have me and another new woman in class. They said they've been having a total of six women for the last several weeks. I don't know how I feel about that. The teacher didn't show, so a member of the RS presidency had to teach on the fly.
Taylor's co-worker and ward member had us over for dinner tonight. It was nice of them to welcome us.
My mom and sister Nikenzie have been here since Wednesday to help with the kids and leave tomorrow. It has been good to not have them under-foot the whole time, I'm happy they could come.
Finally, we found out the people who bought our house bought it to use as a rental. I don't know exactly why, but it makes me sad to hear that.

I was so excited to see the pictures Taylor was telling me about....where are they! =o) Glad all is going well for you. We just might go rent your house....that would be fun. Anyway, we miss you already!
Wow, the big move! Good job. Are you renting for now? That is crazy only 6 ladies in RS! You will do a lot of good out there. Good luck with the transition.
That would be sad to find out that your buyers plan to rent your house. It kind of reminds me of Father of the Bride 2 when they sell their house and find out the guy plans to demolish it. I am glad that your drive to Las Cruces was uneventful and that you have found the people in LC to be friendly. A would be a huge adjustment from going to your old ward to this new one... but I am sure that you have much great work to do in this ward. You should come and spend Thanksgiving with us now that you are so much closer!

Hey, would you mind posting your new address? I'm always gearing up for christmas cards about this time of year.
I'm glad to hear that you're doing well. I hope that settling in goes quickly for you.
