Luminarias

We took the kids to the Las Cruces "lights" celebration. They don't do many Christams lights, but do thousands of luminarias--brown paper bags with some sand in the bottom and a lit candle inside.

There were 3000 luminarias all through downtown, lit by a team of only around 20.

They had free carriage rides (the lines were too long for us to wait)

There was a real mariachi band.

And Santa came on a fire truck. Despite this picture, Kylee wasn't afraid of him.

We took a stop at the playground on the way home.

We met some friends there and had a great, cold time.
