9:30-9:50 Dog tag assignment and orientation- included writing their names on their dog tags and a very effective game of Sergent Says as the kids arrived.
Four Station rotation:
9:50-10:05 Spiritual and Physical Evaluation-The children learned about the importance of Spiritual and physical health, then made Valentines for troops to be delivered via Blue Star Mothers- to lift their spirits.
10:05-10:20 Operation Lost Sheep- Children learned the story of the Lost Sheep, wrote their name on a really cute sheep poster the president made and then played a game involving hiding a small sheep in the room and then bleating louder or softer as the child playing "Sheppard" got closer or farther from the "lost" sheep
10:20-10:35- Endurance (To the End) training-A lesson about enduring to the end and then an obstacle course. Older children were timed, younger ones got a sticker for each time they made it through.
10:35-10:50 Project Missile Children were taught that some things we are told to do and other things we are told not to do. The not to do things were written on a target and the kids "blasted" them away with Nerf guns.
10:50- Mess Hall. Pudding and Bananas
We also collected items for Blue Star Mothers and part of a Service project.
I had every intention of bringing my camera to the first activity I was in charge of in this calling and Kylee's first primary activity ever, but it turned out to be just an intention. Luckily, Taylor is a primary teacher and he took some pictures with his phone.
