Keeping up with Kayla

Oh, I love Mikayla! She is smart, and cute, and cuddly and. . . mischievous. Now, I know all kids are curious. She is my third after all! But, I've never had one quite like her.

Here she is working out backwards on my stair stepper (right after pulling her hair elastic out and putting it in her mouth). She doesn't know how to get down by herself, so when she is tired of being on the stair stepper (or stool or fireplace, etc.) she she starts babbling to me to come get her.

Kylee left for school on Friday morning and maybe two minutes after she was out the door, Mikayla was walking around with a box of whales (she had opened the pantry and helped herself) and KYLEE'S blanket. Yes, she wants to be just like her big sister. Kylee is such a good sister to always locates Mikayla's blanket to make a switch, but it would seem Mikayla realizes she can get away with it while Kylee is at school.

We recently put a table cloth on our table. It was great for the first few days. Until Mikayla realized how fun it was to give the tablecloth a tug!

These are the only pictures I have, but my days are filled with gathering scattered packages of fruit snacks, finding cleaning supplies on the fire place (I must have left the cabinet under the sink open), washing toilet water from hands and sleeves, barricading the stairs, rescuing my make-up, cleaning up the packages of toothpaste, shampoo, or what ever else is under the bathroom sink, helping Mikayla walk in princess shoes, fishing things out of her mouth, keeping wet paint brushes away from her little hands, guarding all phones, computers, game systems, and remote controls, and generally trying to keep every drawer, door, and lid closed.

I know it sounds like I must be the a negligent mother, if she can do all these things, but let me say: the girl is fast! And did I mention smart?

She keeps me busy, but I wouldn't trade this for the world! She is also a little ray of sunshine in our home with her constant smile and oh-so-cuteness. As "they" say, this time will pass all too quickly.
