Wow! This was a great introduction to cub scouts. Brayden isn't quite eight, yet, but was still allowed to go with our ward cub scouts troup to cup scout camp.
Back row: Trent Famuliner, Brayden Dickerson, Josh Henrich,
Middle row: Brady Heinig, Brady Mills, Ryan Updike, Alex Long, Marc Shultz
Next row: Conner Cramer, Malici Lawson
Next row: Dalling Anderson
Front row: Jonah Childress and Porter Ratliff
The camp is every day, all day, for five days. I had the privilege of going on the first day and Taylor took a day off work to go on the second day.
One of the activities was "CSI." Each day was a different activity. This one was knowing your personal information.
Brayden didn't catch a fish this week, but some of the other boys did. One of them even caught a turtle. Taylor says he might actually start to take in interest in fishing, after doing it with the boys.
Waiting for the bite.
Brayden's first time shooting a bow and arrow.
With a little help from the instructor, he got a dead-eye. That means in the center circle of the bulls-eye.
I even got to give it a try. I didn't do so great, but it was fun!
B-B shooting was next, which of course, was a highlight for the boys. Brayden also shot a bulls-eye at this station. I think it was his sharp-shooting day!
What scout camp would be complete without a craft? Of course, the cubs are too cool for crafts, so this activity was called "projects."
Turns out most of the other troops had tents to eat lunch under. Our didn't the first day, but on the second day, Taylor brought his. We suspected that there were ticks in the tree over us during lunch the first day, so this was a nice addition!
