The time has come for Brayden to get glasses. I am pretty sure I got my first pair in the second grade, so he made it a few more months that I did. This shopping trip was unsuccessful as far as finding the right frames, but both Kylee and Mikayla though they had found winners.
Me with my new niece, Maycee. She is so tiny! She was born a few weeks early, but after some extra days in the hospital, she came home and is doing just fine.
I would not say our garden this year was a roaring success. With the heat, gardens all through the area had some problems. But this, is our big achievement! We grew this beeee-you-ti-full specimen of a watermelon.
And it was so yummy! We are hoping for a few more before the season ends.
The swing set that was in our backyard was literally falling apart. Brayden tried to cross the monkey bars and the wood snapped. So, when some friends moved and listed this one on Craig's list, we took the opportunity! It's not big, but it's sturdy and Josh and Taylor "upgraded" it by adding a second slide. Thank you Uncle Josh for your help with assembly!
At the beginning of the summer, I was rear ended. We are now just getting the car fixed. I went to the rental place while Taylor was at work to pick up a rental car for Taylor to commute in. I know nothing about cars, so on the phone I told him it was a boat that didn't fit in the garage and I could barely see past the hood. When he saw the car he had happy fits, partly because he was expecting a true boat and partly because the Charger is Dodge's version of the Mustang (Mustang was the car Taylor drove when we got married). I guess Shelly didn't know either because at first, she thought he was talking about a phone charger.
My babies with their babies. They have really diapers (from Mikayla's closet) on them. I explained to them that we are only doing this once.
No childhood is complete with out blanket forts!
Kylee is helping me make the macaroni and cheese. She looks so big.
The kids on a trip to the aquarium with Shelly.
Yes, we have princesses.
