The Brown Bag

Over Christmas Break, I tried to think of a fun activity for the kids to do each day.  I put the supplies for these activities/crafts in a brown bag that they could open after the chores were complete.  We did other activities, too, mostly playing with friends, but these were the more structured ones.

December 17th
We colored and glitter glued Christmas Ornaments

December 18th
Made a snowman card for Grandma and Grandpa Great

December 19th and 20th

One day we baked cookies and the next day we decorated them.  We used almond flour (gluten free) and they were delicious!

December 21

Decorated Christmas trees with marshmallow ornaments

December 22

We shaped pipe cleaners and grew Borax Crystals on them.
December 23
Today the whole family loaded up in the van Brayden and Kylee took turns going into Dollar Tree with a parent and picking out a present for each other.  You can see Brayden carefully holding his gift for Kylee behind his back.  We finished the evening by going out for icecream.  Kylee picked out silly putty and Brayden picked out an animal that grows when put in water.

December 24
On Christmas Eve, we went to Bartelsville to spend the evening with The Dickersons.  Lacie was also in town.  These are all of Layne's grand kids.  Oliviah, Kylee, Maycee, Maddie, Brayden, Mikayla.

December 25

Of course, Christmas!  Our family movie, Kung Fu Panda 2, was wrapped in a brown bag.  (Thanks, Shelly)

December 26

Melty bead creations.

Dec 27
We went to see the lights.

Dec 28

Make your own crayons

Dec 29
Today we didn't to the brown bag.  We went to Chuck E Cheese instead.

Dec 30

We made these cotton swab snow flakes with glue and glitter.

Dec. 31

Make a New Year's sign

Jan 1
We opened our Christmas presents from Aunt Shelly.  The girls got 144 pairs of stick on earrings and Brayden got the game Rummikub.
Jan 2--back to school!

What fun activities! Hopefully, the kids raced through their chores each day to see what the surprise was for each day!
