Brayden went to the eye doctor this week and was sooo good. He even believed the nurse when she told him that a Glacoma test tickles (that's the one where they blow air in your eyes). He is already seeing 20/30, which is unusual for his age. He also has an astigmatism in the right eye. Taylor and I are both nearly blind, so he doesn't stand a chance. He isn't quite ready for glasses, yet, but it's coming! (He got some of those awesome paper glasses that the eye doctors hand out after your eyes are dilated--too bad I didn't take a picture! He thought they were pretty cool.)

Notice in this picture, Kylee has a single pony tail on the top of her head rather than her traditional pig-tails. I mention this only because when I put one bow in Kylee's hair and then said I was done, she about had a fit. She wanted two bows, gosh darn, and she was going to tell me about it! In my moment of "parenting" I told her if she calmed down I would be happy to put the other bow in. I don't think she understood (or she did understand and was mad) because she had a complete melt-down, at which point I just wanted to put the bow in and be done with it--but, I had told her she could only have it if she calmed down. Thank goodness "blank" (blanket) can calm most problems. How do I get myself into messes like that?

Taylor does almost all of the grocery shopping in our family (Yea Taylor!) This is me and Kylee wishing him a grand adventure.

When Ella comes over one of her favorite games is "nap time." Go figure.

This is one of the best purchases I ever made. Brayden still loves Marble Race.

Monday night was THE storm. It started out like any other storm--I could hear the rain on the roof and some lightning, but nothing to keep me awake. Some time in the middle of the night, the sound changed to what I thought had to be about 300 little evil gnomes on my roof, hitting it with baseball bats. Obviously, the gnomes got tired of the baseball bat thing, so they decided to put on tap shoes and do a marching-tap dance. That's when I realized they were fat gnomes. Man they were loud! Taylor was up pacing the floor watching the tornado warnings and listening for sirens to go off. Our's didn't go off, but a neighboring city's did and Taylor could hear them (I couldn't but Taylor has bat-senses when it comes to hearing). Several Tornados flew over the Tulsa areas, but none touched down. Thank goodness! A friend in a nearby neighborhood took this picture of the hail. I like the gnome theory better.

Just as a side note, some good books I've read to Brayden't class lately are: Rattletrap Car by Phyllis Root, Mr. Bumble by Kim Kennedy, and Buster by Denise Fleming. The kids' favorite was Rattletrap Car.
