Owen and Kylee at the park. I met Andrea and Jodi for a really relaxing morning. I wish I could have stayed longer, but alas, Brayden needed to be picked up from school.
I am not one for bath pictures. In fact, it is quite possible that I don't have a single bath picture of Brayden. However, I feel the need to mention how much Kylee LOVES the bath tub. I don't even know for sure if it is the bath she likes, but I know she likes the tub. Note, there is no water in this tub. She will sit until the water all drains, play for a while, and still throw a fit when we get her out and put a diaper on.
I post this picture in honor of my friend, Sheila. She lives in Southern California and in a recent blog post, mentioned that she has paid about $18.00 for a half flat of strawberries at a fruit stand. Yikes!! These were on sale at the local grocery store for $4.97. Sheila, it would probably be cheaper for me to buy them and mail them to you--even considering that the box boasts "California Strawberries!"
I put these ones on Jell-o cake for to a couple friends who recently had babies. But, I saved some to dip in chocolate. . . yum.
I don't have a picture to go with my last story of the week, but here it goes anyway. Around 5:50 on Friday morning, the phone rang-- it was our neighbor down the street, Jennie Moore. She is the mother of Barbara George (who is so great to our kids).
When I answered the phone she said "Hi Jasmine, it's Mrs. Moore. Can I talk to Taylor?" She was so calm, she could have been calling to borrow a cup of sugar. After Taylor's conversation with her, however, things became a little more intense. Mrs. Moore had fallen and thought her hip was broken. She had spent the last thirty minutes dragging herself to the phone. Could we come and help her?
Did I mention that the Georges were out of town? Typically, the Georges leave us a key to their home and Jennie's garage door opener is on their coffee table. That way we can get into either house, should the need arise. When I called Barbara, who was in California (and of course a bit panicked that we called her at 3:50 am Pacific time) she said the alarm was on at her house and there was no garage door opener. She told us to break into her mom's.
So, long story short, we called Emergency services and they broke a window to get to Jennie. She had indeed broken her hip and was taken directly to the Emergency room. Barbara got on the first plane she could back to Tulsa, and I have now officially been party to breaking into someone else's home. As of yesterday, Jennie has two artificial hips and they are not certain that she will be able to live by herself any more.

Yay for strawberries!!
I just made another order, and this time I'm getting all #2's (the good for jam but not for dipping kind) and I paid $11 for a full flat (which is 16 small green basket things). Not so bad!
I'm jealous that you can go get yours at the grocery store for that cheap. I have to use the strawberry black market to get mine!
I love your blog!!
What a SAD story. I feel horrible for Sis George's mom! That is so sad. Glad you were there to help out.
