Wally World

The big news this week is that a new Wal-Mart opened within a 5 minute drive from our house. Yes, that is exciting news when you live in the sticks of Oklahoma. Sadly, it has been open for 4 days and between Taylor and I, we have been there 4 times. What is our problem?

In other exciting news, Wednesday night was the first time I have ever heard the Jenks sirens sound to warn of an approaching tornado. The tornado was on Memorial in Bixby, which, is actually quite close to our home. The kids however, really like the sirens as that means we sit under the table in our closet and play games until the storm stops. (And they got to stay up past bed time!)

Like most little girls, Kylee likes to wear other people's shoes. However, she has recently discovered Brayden's shoes--which is not good for the Brayden/Kylee relationship. They are her new absolute favorite. Maybe Brayden will stop leaving his shoes out. . .

To celebrate Taylor's birthday early, we went to dinner at Red Robin with Layne, Donna (Layne's girl), Josh, and Haylee.

The milk shakes were so good! Taylor and I got one to share and the kids drank the whole thing--we ended up ordering a second.
This was Kylee's honest reaction when the milk shake ran out. Poor baby.
Before Red Robin, we met at Jonny Carinos (we were going to go there.) Brayden was cold while we were waiting, so he started running back and forth in front of the restaurant. Of course, he fell and scraped his knee. I asked the manager of Jonny Carinos if he had a band-aid, which he did. Thank you! About 3 minutes later the hostess came out and said they didn't have a table for 8 and that we would have to split up. We elected instead to go to a different restaurant. Oh well, thanks for the band-aid!

I love Mother's Day. My present (this is really embarrassing) was I slept from 1:30pm to 6:30pm. Oh, can I ask for a better gift? That's longer than I've slept most nights over the last couple weeks. On top of that, Brayden made me a card and Taylor made dinner AND cleaned up. He also got me two ice creams--one pistachio and one chocolate brownie. yum. Thank you!

Hi Jasmine! I am glad that Brayden was okay after swallowing that marble. That would have been a horrible experience. And it is just so crazy that you actually experience the sirens and have to sit under a table until you get the all clear sign. we just don't deal with any of that here in AZ. Happy Belated Birthday Taylor. I love to read your blog! -Robin

Wow, that's quite a calling Jasmine! How wonderful that you are willing and able to serve. Good luck with that.
